A cloud shaped like a clenched fist is gathering and looms menacingly over Franconia. The Kanonenfieber Regiment is preparing to march across Europe—not as conquerors, but as a reminder of the horrors of past battles.
From November 18 through December 11, we will bring the war to the stage for 23 days. With thunder, smoke, and the clang of steel, we will tell the story of the battlefronts of World War I and the fates of those who were lost in its flames.
This will be no triumphal march. What remains is despair, ash, and smoke.
The days of war begin.
